This week, I’m prepping to speak on a panel for the United Nations Food Systems Summit. The event will focus on the future of safe, nutritious food, advancements in production agriculture, “sustainable” diets, systems changes due to COVID-19, climate-friendly foods, and creating a system that is resilient to global stressors.

The recent Alltech ONE Ideas Conference looked at the dairy sector and dove into topics on climate change, emissions, feed use and consumer expectations. Many aspects in this industry were covered, including opportunities, solutions and challenges in the dairy sector. We summarise some of the highlights that were brought to the forefront during this event.
One of the topics addressed at the recent virtual Alltech ONE ideas conference was how to feed our livestock in the future. Several speakers discussed how to take into account the carbon footprint, sustainable feed sources and human and animal health, while producing enough food in the future.
As pork production around the world is ramped up to cater for increased demand, pig housing and technology is also being developed at a fast pace. 2 Speakers at the recent Alltech ONE ideas virtual conference, held June 22-24, focused on their work in these specialist areas. In addition, keynote speakers zoomed in on more general actual themes.
KEENAN is recruiting for apprentices to join its team through the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) Apprenticeship Program. This program focuses on the development of a range of skills such as engineering drawing, electrical and electronic technology, OEM practices, mechatronics, analytical & problem solving and industrial robotics.
As an OEM Apprentice you will acquire the necessary skills to assemble, install, test, carry out fault diagnostics and commission electrically controlled engine driven and battery powered systems. You will also:

Applicants must be over 17 years of age and have completed their leaving certificate with five 06 grades or five passes pre-2017 (preferably to include mathematics, engineering or another technical subject)
