Dutch dairy farmers are now free to produce all the milk they want — if they buy quota to produce more phosphate. According to statistics provided by Dirk Roelants, a sales rep with Alltech, it is estimated that 800 to 1,000 farmers will leave the dairy industry in the Netherlands during the next year.
