We are pleased to share that Alltech Bulgaria was the 1^st place winner of the Innovation Competition organised by the International Fair Plovdiv during one of the biggest local agricultural events which took place from March 9-13 – AGRA 2022 International Agricultural Exhibition. The award is in the category “livestock technologies” and has been given for the KEENAN Controller synced with the Alltech InTouch feed management platform.

Nadya Nesterova entered the competition on behalf of KEENAN and Alltech. A presentation and live demonstration of the KEENAN InTouch system was given to the contest commission by our colleague Emil Mitev on the opening day of the exhibition.

This is great recognition that brings wider awareness of the KEENAN and Alltech brands in Bulgaria.

During the 5-day event, Alltech and KEENAN salespeople met with many current and potential customers.

Layer gut health is key for optimum performance, immunity and welfare, and for good gut health, the bird needs a diverse and balanced microbiome. When assessing the situation, we should first ask, “is there an issue with layer gut health?” This should be followed by, “how do we monitor gut health and know if the gut microbiome is diverse and balanced?” and, lastly, “when a gut health issue is identified, how do we address it?”

The transition to cage-free egg production is gaining momentum. The European Commission estimates that 50% of egg production has already moved to cage-free. For those now working on their transition plan, it is time to think about new challenges or challenges that may be heightened with this new production system.

The global COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the agri-food sector, contributing to supply chain challenges and accelerating the adoption of new technology and environmental sustainability practices. Alltech recently released the eleventh edition of its annual feed production survey, which includes data from more than 140 countries and over 28,000 feed mills. Based on this data, it is estimated that international feed tonnage has increased by 2.3%, to 1.235 billion metric tons of feed produced in 2021.

Harvest 2021 across the key grain growing regions of the Northern Hemisphere suffered under the weather conditions that prevailed during both the growing season and the actual harvest itself. Europe experienced a combination of drought in southern regions, while further north, flooding dominated.

After 10 years of delegating the feeding, French farmer Cédric Tribodet decided to invest in a KEENAN diet feeder and went back to feeding the herd himself.

He opted for an Approved-used KEENAN to feed his 160 cows.
