Norman trotted into Mexico and was starving after completing his long journey. Thankfully he had just arrived in the land of the quesadilla! Norman had heard a lot about traditional Mexican dishes and decided to sample some of them in an old Mexican family restaurant. Norman had a great time during the meal listening to a mariachi band play, and when he had finally finished eating all of his food he decided to head outside and give it a try.

The next stop on Norman’s global trot was New Mexico which is nicknamed the land of enchantment. Norman was quite excited to see the state as its nickname made it sounds like a magical place! When he reached New Mexico he first went to the capital of Sante Fe which is actually the oldest capital city in America, founded in 1610 and the highest above sea level at 1,700ft. As well as having the oldest capital city, New Mexico also has the least amount of rivers in comparison to all other states.

The next stop on Norman’s global trot in America was the state of Idaho, which is also known as the land of potato and dairy farms. Norman was excited to spend the morning taking in the culture of this vast state. He ventured to the Sawtooth Wilderness trail and hiked up Borah Peak. When Norman reached the top he was astounded by the incredible view of the sparkling lake. After checking the time Norman realised he would have enough time to do a quick spot of fishing in the Salmon River.

Norman Visits South Dakota & Mount Rushmore Norman visiting Mount Rushmore, South Dakota

Norman neighed hello to the Midwest and trotted into the state of South Dakota where the famous Mount Rushmore lies. This piece of amazing sculptural artwork depicts four of America’s most famous presidents; George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln carved into the side of the mountain. Norman took the time to visit the mountain and wondered if he, one day, could join the former presidents and have his face carved into stone.
