Norman learns about the Dominican Republic's horse history! Norman relaxes in the Dominican Republic

Norman neighed hello to the Dominican Republic and was excited to learn more about its history and culture. Norman recalled that during Christopher Columbus’ second voyage in 1493, Columbus returned to the Dominican Republic bringing oranges, limes, citron, olive and walnut trees, wheat, rice, cinnamon, cloves, peaches, apricots, sheep, goats, cattle, pigs and of course horses!

Norman reaches the beautiful country of Guatemala! Norman visits Mauricio Evans Jnr.

Norman’s next stop on his global trot was the country of Guatemala, based in Central America. As he cantered high up into the mountainous terrain, he stopped to take in the beauty that surrounded him. Norman moved his hooves very slowly until he was near the edge of the road and looked down the sloping hill and all around him; he was above the clouds! It was amazing to be up so high in the sky. Norman then went to the city of Antigua and took the bus up to the nearby volcano where he joined a crowd in toasting marshmallows over the volcanic steam.

Norman crosses the border to Latin America! Hello Mexico! Norman rocks out while playing mariachi

Norman trotted into Mexico and was starving after completing his long journey. Thankfully he had just arrived in the land of the quesadilla! Norman had heard a lot about traditional Mexican dishes and decided to sample some of them in an old Mexican family restaurant. Norman had a great time during the meal listening to a mariachi band play, and when he had finally finished eating all of his food he decided to head outside and give it a try.

Norman trots into New Mexico Norman gets down to business in New Mexico

The next stop on Norman’s global trot was New Mexico which is nicknamed the land of enchantment. Norman was quite excited to see the state as its nickname made it sounds like a magical place! When he reached New Mexico he first went to the capital of Sante Fe which is actually the oldest capital city in America, founded in 1610 and the highest above sea level at 1,700ft. As well as having the oldest capital city, New Mexico also has the least amount of rivers in comparison to all other states.
