- About Alltech
For decades low levels of antibiotics have been included in livestock diets to promote digestive health and growth. Antibiotic growth promoters (AGPs) have been highly effective at keeping animals healthy, as well as producing more meat, milk or eggs per pound of feed and improving producers’ profitability. However, an increasing number of reports of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in animals and humans have raised concerns about the current use of antibiotics, both as a treatment for humans and as an ingredient in animal feeds. As more and more restrictions on use go into place around the world, the need for alternatives to maintain health and performance also grows.
The Alltech Antibiotic-Free program supports producers as they transition their animals, helping ensure a healthy and profitable future for their operation. The program brings together over 35 years of research and practical application with state-of-the-art support tools and technical expertise. This gives producers a holistic approach to navigate the challenges of antibiotic-free production.
