New boots on the ground supporting farmers in Wales and the Borders

Feeding technology and service provider InTouch has announced the appointment of Imogen Ward to the role of InTouch feeding specialist for Wales and the bordering counties.  

Chris Lord, InTouch manager for the UK, is delighted to welcome Imogen to the team to continue the high-quality on-farm support service in a region densely populated with beef, sheep and dairy enterprises. 

“The last few months have brought about a never-seen-before set of challenges,” says Chris. “COVID-19 has limited our farm visits, but thanks to our digital technology, we have been able to provide virtual support using real-time feeding data that comes through to our central system via the cloud. Imogen is highly qualified and experienced, and very able to hit the ground running to continue our feeding support service on-farm.” 

Having worked for the Welsh government programme, Farming Connect, and an agricultural consultancy, Imogen brings with her a wealth of qualification and on-farm experience, specialising in ruminant nutrition.  

Being raised on a farm of pedigree Holsteins her family managed in Wiltshire was what sparked Imogen’s love, passion and interest in the dairy industry. Growing up, Imogen was heavily involved in youngstock management, cattle showing and other general farm duties. Imogen continues to grace the showring, showcasing her family’s small herd of pedigree Jersey and rare breed Red Poll cattle. 

Imogen also brings with her a specific interest in supporting farms in becoming more sustainable, both economically and environmentally.
