John Sweetman is an aquaculture professional with over 35 years of experience. He has extensive global practical experience in fresh water and marine farm design, construction, operation and management.  

He currently serves as Alltech's International Project Manager for Aquaculture, and is charged with the development and implementation of scientific advance in all aspects of industrial aquaculture practices.

His activities include the pursuit of innovative advances in aquaculture and his professional areas of interest include: immune interactions, gut structure and function, mucosal production, mineral inclusion, solid state fermentation complex interactions in diets, and viral and parasite mitigation, among others. He continues to mentor and support students, as well as run training programs and workshops, in addition to initiating new research initiatives globally.
