Alltech Brazil was founded in 1993 and has grown to an operation of 400 employees which contributes 10% to the Alltech's global revenue. Many of the products manufactured in the two Brazilian plants are exported to other countries and regions. The plant in Araucária opened in 2004 and the plant in São Pedro do Ivaí opened in 2007.

The agribusiness industry is serious business in Brazil, as it represents a significant percentage of the local economy: 33% of the GDP (Gross Domestic Product), 42% of total exports, and 37% of domestic jobs, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture. Brazil is the global leader in production and exports many agricultural goods such as: beef, chicken, hide, and leather shoes. Industries such as swine production and aquaculture also thrive in the country.
