Three of the world's top agricultural policy makers come together to address critical feed, food, and fuel issues.

Mike Johanns (former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture), David Byrne (former European Union Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection), and Osler Desouzart (President of OD Consulting in Brazil) will share the stage during the Tuesday afternoon panel discussion and will focus on green solutions to consumer safety, energy, and environmental concerns.
Live stream available here now Tuesday from 2 p.m. US E.S.T. or 18:00 GMT and will remain available on demand shortly after the conclusion of the live event.

Symposium Invites Nutrition Industry Leaders to Rethink, Retool and Reshape the Nutrition Debate

Sustainability, custodians of the environment and the efficient production of food have been the by-words of modern agriculture since the first Green Revolution tried to find ways to feed the world's poor.

The success of this system may be seen by the constant improvements in productivity that we have seen in poultry, pig, ruminant and aquaculture nutrition over the past 50 years. Even in the past five years all areas of agriculture have seen annual costs of production drop by two to three percent.

We are in the grip of a new green revolution - this is a revolution driven in part by concerns over biofuels production and the spiralling cost of feed and food. The nutrition industry has a role to play.

It is Alltech’s hope that, just as those who came of age in the 1940s are remembered as the 'Greatest Generation,' our industry’s deciders and influencers will make their mark in the wider world as members of the 'Greenest Generation.'

Alltech’s Symposium is an exciting time to share knowledge and gain new insights into our industry. It’s an incredible opportunity too for individuals throughout agribusiness to come together and discuss pertinent issues such as traceability, supply variability and constraint, and using new technologies to reduce the impact of agriculture on the environment.

Alltech’s Symposium will be held April 20-23, 2008 in Lexington, Kentucky.

Attendance is strictly by invitation only.
