Amanda Gehman has been a member of Alltech’s ruminant research team since 2009.  In her role as a research project manager for Alltech, Dr. Gehman is in charge of dairy nutrition and environmental projects.  A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Gehman studied dairy nutrition at Penn State, Clemson, and University of Nebraska.  Through her work with universities and Alltech, Dr. Gehman has been involved in research covering all stages of a dairy cow’s life, including production, protein and mineral requirements, rumen development, nutritional immunology, and calf growth and development.   Dr. Gehman has also been involved in the development of in vitro methods to assess ruminal availability of energy and protein from feed and greenhouse gas emissions related to rumen fermentation.
