The Alltech message at EuroTier, this year's largest European agricultural event held in Hanover, Germany, was 'Thinking globally, acting locally' and clearly demonstrated Alltech's commitment to satisfying the needs of the local market. Dr. Lyons, President and Aidan Connolly, Vice President, joined Alltech representatives from countries all around Europe, to promote their products and the company as a truly global player in the animal feed industry.

Alltech continue their global expansion and reinforce their commitment to the emerging Asia Pacific region with the announcement of additional members to its team. Dr. Sunil Yadav and Gautam Bhadra join Alltech India, Dr. Wong Won Hong joins Alltech Malaysia and Yaowaluck Yongsiri joins Alltech Thailand. Dr Sunil Yadav has been appointed as Business Development Manager for Alltech India. Yadav has a PhD in animal nutrition as well as 10 years of industry experience in the poultry and dairy business.

Dr. Pearse Lyons, president of the Kentucky headquartered company, Alltech, received an honorary doctorate from one of Ireland's leading universities on 3 November 2004. Dr. Lyons, who is Irish born, is a former student of the institute, where he received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry in the 1960's. The day marked the start of the 150 year anniversary celebrations for University College Dublin, the largest college of the National University of Ireland.

Nutritionists and industry leaders joined forces to address ways to apply new mineral solutions to issues facing the animal health industry. This was the second of Alltech's new series of dedicated scientific seminars for the animal feed industry. The presentations challenged the attendees to redefine mineral nutrition to increase animal performance, productivity and profitability.

Congratulations to Stelbro Michelle Rubens-Red-Et, winner of Alltech's Miss Yea-Sacc1026 competition. In addition to the title, her owner, Kurt Loehr of Egan, Wisc., received a $500 cash scholarship from Alltech to help defray the costs of their trip to the World Dairy Expo. The Miss Yea-Sacc1026 competition, a two-month-long contest among cows fed Yea-Sacc1026, received several excellent entrants.
