Alltech meeting to examine the future of ethanol and distillers dried grains

[Lexington, Kentucky] -- Due to rising oil prices and a greater awareness of the limited supply of fossil fuels, the latest reports in 2006 suggest that ethanol production is increasing rapidly - by as much as 16% and rising. In the United States, the White House aims to have ethanol "cost-competitive by 2012, offering the potential to displace up to 30% of the Nation's current fuel use." This means that of the 250 million tons of corn that the U.S. produces annually, 140 million tons will be destined for ethanol production, leaving only 110 million tons for food and feed.

Alltech increases global production for feed yeast

Alltech Sao Pedro do Ivai has expanded to include a third spray dryer.? This dryer will allow Alltech Sao Pedro to dry an additional 60 tonnes of product per day, which translates into a 60% increase in production.?

32 participants from 10 countries attend Alltech and NACA Shrimp Health Management Training Workshop

[Bangkok, Thailand] -? Alltech, in conjunction with the Network of Aquaculture Centers in Asia Pacific (NACA), hosted its second Shrimp Health Management Training Workshop recently. The workshop, the second such collaboration between Alltech and NACA, attracted 32 participants from 10 countries including China, Taiwan, India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Brunei from 24th - 29th July, 2006, in Bangkok, Thailand.
