[Dublin, IRELAND] - Alltech has opened a state-of-the art energy generation facility in Senta, Serbia. The new plant encompasses many cutting edge technologies and instead of using conventional fuel, it uses the waste from the yeast factory as a raw material. This waste is converted into biogas which is used to power the new co-generation plant. Co-generation combines heat and power generation. Burning biogas in a co-generation unit achieves important ecological effects: cutting down on harmful gas emissions.
