WHAT: Kentucky may be number one in basketball prowess, but the Bluegrass is currently the 13th worst U.S. state for finding a job. March figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor indicate that Kentucky is hovering above the national average of 8.2 percent with 8.6 percent of its population out of work. Some Eastern Kentucky counties are reaching unemployment levels as high as 16 percent, double the national average.
