Embedding Center and microtome - A procedure for processing animal tissues for microscopic examination. The tissues are initially fixed, dehydrated and infiltrated with paraffin and then take to the embedding center for preparation of a paraffin block of the tissue. The solidified paraffin block is then cut on the microtome as 7 micron sections of tissue. The sections are then picked up on a slide, dried, stained and coverslipped.
