Connemara Golf Course Introduces New Executive Chef, Expanded Menu and Staff at Bill’s Saloon
[LEXINGTON, Ky.] – Thanks to the addition of its first full-time executive chef, hungry patrons can now enjoy an expanded, updated menu at Bill’s Saloon, located at Connemara Golf Course in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Savoring a salmon salad or housemade pulled pork sandwich against the backdrop of an1840s plantation house and the rolling hills of an emerald-green golf course is a treat that both golfers and business professionals on their lunch break alike can enjoy. Bill’s Saloon is open for lunch daily to the public from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
The golf course’s menu has been reinvented and expanded, with the addition of full-time executive chef, Eric Cromer. The food staff has doubled to serve the growing customer demand. A 22-year veteran in the food industry, Cromer is a Lexington native and graduated from the culinary institute at Robert Morris University in Chicago.
Launched in 2009, Bill’s Saloon features casual dining in the plantation house found at the front of the 18-hole golf course with indoor seating and a large outdoor patio. The menu ranges from appetizers – one of which is a beer cheese made using Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale® – to sandwiches, burgers and specialty salads, including a build-your-own chicken salad. Bill’s Saloon also serves the Kentucky Ale® family of beers from Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co., often featuring hard-to-find seasonal releases from the local craft brewery.
Along with the expanded menu, Connemara also now offers rentals of business meeting rooms in the plantation house. The charming building features three rooms that seat 10 people. Built in 1992, Connemara Golf Course is located at 2327 Lexington Road in Nicholasville, Ky. Situated in the heart of the Kentucky Bluegrass amid the rolling hills of a former horse farm, the property dates back to 1833. The public course is owned by Connemara Holdings, LLC, and is minutes south of Lexington. The scenic course boasts 18 challenging holes, a driving range, practice green, and a full stocked pro shop.
