Lakeland Animal Nutrition Commits $10,000 to Florida State NBHA

[LAKELAND, Fla.] – Lakeland Animal Nutrition, powered by Alltech, is proud to announce the official sponsorship of the Florida State National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA).  Bob Simon, general manager of Lakeland Animal Nutrition presented Linda Jones, state director of the Florida State NBHA with a $10,000 check which will be included in the prize money during the 2014 Florida State NBHA State Championships at Osceola Heritage Park June 18-22.

“We are truly excited about our partnership with Linda and the Florida State NBHA,” said Simon.   “Lakeland Animal Nutrition has a long history of providing feeding solutions that are unique to the Florida horse with regards to climate, forages, and other feeding conditions.”

Lakeland’s premium line of horse feeds, Signature Advanced Nutrition Formulas, have become a staple across the state, developed specifically for Florida horses and formulated with advanced nutritional solutions from parent company Alltech.  Since May of 2013 Lakeland has been working on a new formulation for the barrel racing market, for horses that require high energy levels for competition and conditioning.  The new formula, Signature Turn & Burn, is slated to launch in March.

“We are proud to have Lakeland Animal Nutrition join the Florida State NBHA family,” Jones said.  “With 11 member districts and 1,741 members, Florida State NBHA has the largest membership anywhere in the United States and consistently has the largest and highest paying state show in the NBHA.   For brand recognition, I can think of no better avenue and we look forward to having Lakeland as a key partner for many years to come.”

“One of our goals through this sponsorship is to have a presence at as many district shows as we can and provide our dealers with an opportunity to participate with us to help drive business back to their stores," said Jonathan Lang, sales and marketing manager at Lakeland Animal Nutrition. “Secondly, we do not want this to be just about added money for the state championship show, but something that will truly give back to all districts across the state and fundamentally help grow the Florida State NBHA.  Within the next few weeks we will be announcing some of the new and exciting marketing initiatives with this goal in mind.”
