Started in 2010, the Alltech Invitational serves as a stepping stone for golfers nationally, with last year’s winner Brandon Brown recently making his debut at the 2013 U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa. All proceeds from the tournament help support the Alltech ACE Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation that funds the company’s philanthropic efforts around the world, including its Sustainable Haiti Project, which supports two primary schools in Haiti and economic development projects in the country.

“This year’s events far exceeded any of our expectations. We had beautiful weather, an incredible field of players and a first-class golf course to host this amazing event,” said Tim Arthur, chief information officer for Alltech and tournament director for the Alltech Invitational. “The incredible turnout, wonderful sponsors and exciting competition helped us raise $50,000 for the Alltech ACE Foundation this year. It’s not about making money; it’s about giving back.

Built in 1992, Connemara Golf Course is situated in the heart of the bluegrass amidst the rolling hills of Connemara Farm, which dates back to 1833. The golf course boasts 18 challenging holes, a driving range and practice green as well as a grill that serves lunch and offers Alltech’s Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. beverages, including Kentucky Ale®, Kentucky Light®, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale® and Kentucky IPA.
