[LEXINGTON, Ky.] – The Alltech National Horse Show upheld its legacy as a top-rated American equestrian event in 2012 with high praise from the North American Riders Group (NARG) and the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame.
In its second year at the Kentucky Horse Park, the Alltech National Horse Show was, for the second consecutive time, inducted into the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame. In January, NARG ranked the 2012 Alltech National Horse Show fourth overall in its Top 25 of 2012. With an improved score from the previous year, the show was the second-highest ranked American show. Judges commended the show for its large prize pool, the state-of-the-art Alltech Arena and an impressive turnout of international competitors.
“With all the ingredients of a fabulous equestrian event, a perfect score is within reach for The Alltech National Horse Show. First and foremost, the show has one of the sport’s top sponsors in its title. This same sponsor played a supporting role in building the Alltech Arena, with the ability to host a tremendous indoor affair within its walls —from show jumping to shopping to fine dining and fabulous parties. The prize money offered is the best of any indoor show in North America. Excellent footing and top course design mixed with a solid turnout of international competitors resulted in great sport.” – NARG Top 25 of 2012 Report
Reserved for the year’s top performers in equestrian sport, the week-long Alltech National Horse Show includes the $50,000 Alltech Puissance, the $250,000 Alltech National Horse Show Grand Prix and the ASPCA Alfred B. Maclay Championship for junior riders. For the first time since 1999, the 2012 show included classes of high-stepping American Saddlebreds. More than 300 riders and 500 horses from 13 countries competed in the classes during the show, which presented more than $600,000 in prize money. The Alltech National Horse Show will take aim at a perfect NARG score when it returns to Alltech Arena Oct. 29-Nov. 3, 2013. For more information, visit www.alltechnationalhorseshow.com.
