Add Haiti to Your Holiday List with the Gift of New Alltech Café Citadelle French Vanilla
A gift that also provides hope for Haiti, Alltech Café Citadelle French Vanilla has arrived in marketplaces as the first expansion of the Fair Trade™ Alltech Café Citadelle coffee released in 2010. Profits from the sale of both Alltech Café Citadelle gourmet coffees go to Alltech’s Sustainable Haiti Project, which funds two elementary schools and supports economic development in communities of northern Haiti.
Alltech Café Citadelle’s shade-grown, Arabica coffee beans serve as an important economic resource for Haitian families. The coffee was named for the Citadelle Laferrière, a French fortress built in the 1800s that overlooks one of the coffee-producing villages from the peak of the Bonnet Mountain in Haiti. Coffee beans are imported to Creative Coffees Roastery in Winchester, Ky., where they are roasted, packaged and distributed locally.
Alltech Café Citadelle and Café Citadelle French Vanilla can be purchased as whole bean or ground coffees and sell for a suggested retail price of $12 per bag. Coffees are available at local retailers including Joseph Beth Booksellers, major Liquor Barn locations in central and western Kentucky, Main Cross Café in downtown Lexington, The Sweet Spot in downtown Lexington, The Hilton in downtown Lexington, Benedictus Bookstore in Lexington, Jungle Jim’s in southern Ohio, and Alltech’s Lexington Brewing and Distillery Co. Welcome Center. Coffee is also available for purchase online at www.AlltechCafeCitadelle.com.
Alltech Café Citadelle coffee can be sold by various church groups, schools and other organizations as fundraisers. For each bag sold, the charity or organization will receive $4.50 toward its cause. For more information, visit www.AlltechCafeCitadelle.com.
