[LEXINGTON, Ky.] –The best of barrel-aged craft brews meets classically blended Haitian coffee in the latest release from Alltech’s Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co. Taking to taps and shelves this week, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout is arriving just in time for Thanksgiving sipping in Kentucky and Ohio.
Carefully crafted by Alltech’s master brewers, the complex stout is brewed with Alltech Café Citadelle Haitian coffee. While aging in recently decanted bourbon barrels, the dark-roasted malts combine with sweet hints of caramel and vanilla. The finish is the essence of a lightly roasted coffee.
“This unique stout complements our successful line of barrel-aged beverages, and, if our trial period is any indication, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout is going be found on a lot of wish lists this Christmas,” said Hal Gervis, head of Alltech Brewing and Distilling Global Operations.
Alltech Café Citadelle is a 100% shade-grown Arabica coffee made from hand-picked coffee beans, ensuring a consistent and flavorful coffee at the peak of its richness. True to Alltech's mission of sustainability, Alltech Café Citadelle creates a sales and marketing channel for Haitian coffee, fostering economic development for the people of Haiti. Proceeds from Alltech Café Citadelle go to Alltech’s Sustainable Haiti Project, which supports two Haitian primary schools.
