[Dunboyne, Ireland] - Alltech, the global animal health company, has announced a reorganisation of its management structure in Europe. The change of structures and processes in Alltech allows the organisation to move management, research and marketing support closer to the local market.
According to Aidan Connolly, Vice President of Europe, "Our goal of reaching $1 billion in sales by 2010 is ambitious, however, I am confident that with our commitment to research, our products, many of which are now industry standard, and the right structures in place, Alltech will achieve it." He further added, "The company is growing organically at an annual rate of 20% and in order to sustain this growth and remain close to our customers, it is imperative that we adapt our organisational structure to fully reflect the location of our customer base."
The new horizontal structure being implemented is an extension of Alltech's philosophy of ?EUR~thinking globally, acting locally'. Alltech will now have eight regional directors who will be responsible for various countries throughout Europe. The decentralization of management, both strategic and operational, will allow for quicker decision-making, faster communication and more rapid response times to customer needs.
Commenting on the announcement, Dr Pearse Lyons, President of Alltech explained, "this new structure will allow each country to receive immediate support in their business activities, while allowing Aidan Connolly and myself to focus on Alltech's core issues and strategies, which are necessary to bring Alltech to the $1 billion mark by 2010. People have made Alltech the successful company it is today and these new positions reinforce our ability to be adaptable and flexible to internal and external needs."
Alltech has adopted a similar strategy in North America, Latin America and Asia. The company employs 1,700 and has a presence in 85 countries throughout the world. There are 14 production facilities with more planned over the coming few years.
