Further Expansion for Alltech Asia-Pacific
[Lexington, KY.] - Alltech continues its global development and commitment to the emerging Asia-Pacific region with a continuous expansion program. Recent appointments play a pivotal role in the company's commitment to the region, a plan for a local presence of 400 employees in the region by 2008. Alltech would like to announce the following key appointments:
Dr. Darryl D'Souza has joined Alltech as Pig Specialist for the Asia-Pacific region. Dr. D'Souza was previously with the Agriculture Department of Western Australia, where his area of specialty was pork quality. He is a past winner of the Ted Battenham Award for the Top Researcher of the Year and has a high profile within the Australian pig industry. D'Souza's position will include: spearheading the continued success of Alltech's unique Premier Pig Program?, identifying areas for research in the pig industry and addressing issues such as the $1 billion lost opportunity in sow productivity in Asia. D'Souza will be based in Alltech's office in Melbourne, Australia, and will travel extensively throughout the region.
Dr. Kim Huang has joined as Poultry Specialist for the Asia-Pacific region. Since receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Queensland, Dr. Huang has gained considerable industry experience as a nutritionist at Weston Animal Nutrition in Sydney, Australia, and Gold Coin, Singapore. Huang will work closely with Alltech's Asia-Pacific Technical Poultry Director Aziz Sacranie, to deliver value and additional support to key poultry customers in the Asia Pacific region. He will be based between Alltechs' offices in Beijing, China, and Melbourne, Australia, and will travel extensively throughout the region.
The strategic appointments of D'Souza (Pig) and Huang (Poultry) follow the 2004 appointment of aquaculture expert Dan Fegan, who recently became president for the World Aquaculture Society.
Alltech Aqua, the aquaculture division of the company, has also expanded with the appointments of Mr. Haris Muhtadi as Technical Sales Manager - Aquaculture Farm Sector (Alltech Indonesia) and Mr. Phan Le Phuong as Technical Sales Manager - Aquaculture Farm Sector (Alltech Vietnam).
In Australia, Alltech is pleased to announce the expansion of the dairy technical team with the recruitment of Ms. Kim Brister. With a Bachelor in Agricultural Science from LaTrobe University, Melbourne, Brister will be working closely with Ms. Michelle Drechsler on the dairy sales and technical support team. Brister will be based in Alltech's Melbourne office, providing support to the Australian and New Zealand dairy markets.
Dr. Kuowei Ssu joins Alltech Taiwan as Corporate Account Manager. Dr. Ssu was previously with the Great Wall Company after receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska, USA. Ssu's role will be to drive forward Alltech's account management in Taiwan.
Appointed as Technical Advisor for Alltech Japan, Mr. Yoshinori Hashizawa is responsible for business development of Alltechs' Japanese market. He holds a Master of Science in Animal Science from Niigata University, Japan, where he specialised in poultry nutrition.
Dr. Riza Haerudin has joined Alltech Indonesia as Technical Service Manager for key accounts. After graduating from Bogor Agriculture University, Indonesia, specializing in nutrition, Haerudin continued in the university as a lecturer before moving into the field as a nutrition consultant in feed mills.
