Expansion of technical and sales team in Europe
[Lexington, Kentucky] - Alltech continues its development and commitment to Europe with an ongoing expansion program. Recent appointments play a pivotal role in the company's growth in the European animal feed industry, where annual sales represent 28% of the company's global sales. Alltech would like to announce the following key appointments:
Mr. John Thornton has recently been appointed as manager for Ireland. Thornton previously worked for Alltech South Africa where he was the national sales manager. While working in South Africa, he was heavily involved with the country's poultry industry. In 2004-2005, he was appointed sales manager for Northern Ireland. Thornton has a Master's in Agricultural Science from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa.
Dr. Jules Taylor-Pickard has been appointed technical team manager for Europe. Dr. Taylor-Pickard will initiate, support and interpret the various species research activities in Europe in order to provide natural solutions to optimize animal performance and efficiency. She previously worked as Alltech's European technical manager for the Pig Division. Taylor-Pickard, a nutritionist, obtained her PhD from the University of Nottingham, UK, specializing in post-weaned piglets with particular emphasis on enhancing gut health and immunity. Previously she worked with pharmaceutical applications in the monogastric sector.
Dr. Doerte Laue is based at Alltech's European Bioscience Centre in Ireland, where she is responsible for companion animal sales for all of Europe. Her position focuses on building the Alltech brand and increasing the market share within the pet food industry. Laue gained extensive experience in the pet food industry throughout Europe as an analytical chemist with Lubrizol and the Technical University Clausthal. She also worked for six years with Mars in the Pet Food Division in Innovation Management.
Dr. Susanne Roth has joined Alltech Germany as sales manager for southern Germany. She will be responsible for technical support, maintaining contact with key customers and working closely with the sales team in the southern part of Germany. Dr Roth completed her PhD in ruminants at the University of Hohenheim, Germany, and has gained broad experience in animal nutrition.
Alltech would also like to welcome Ms. Delphine BÃ¨gue-Fenteau as sales manager for France. After completing an MBA at the University of Hartford, Ms. BÃ¨gue-Fenteau worked for Groupe Rouillier and Degussa Feed Additives. Her role with Alltech will involve the management of swine, pet and equine, and she will be based in the French office in Carquefou.
Mr. Graeme Smith has joined Alltech as technical sales manager for the south of England. Mr. Smith previously worked for the largest animal feed manufacturer in the UK, BOCM Pauls. During his time there he undertook various roles, including sales manger for the north of England. His position with Alltech will involve providing technical and sales support to the key feed manufacturers and distributors in the south of England.
Alltech Denmark would like to welcome Mr. Kurt Skovsted as the new technical sales manager - pig division. From 2002-2004, he worked for PIC Denmark A/S in research and development and as production manager. In 2004, he took up the role as production manager for the Danish Farm Design A/S, where he was responsible for the development of modern Danish and foreign pig production and advising farmers in Denmark, Germany, Estonia and Finland in pig management. Skovsted has a MSc from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Copenhagen.
Alltech Czech Republic has made a number of new appointments. This includes Mr. Michal Hul?k who has been appointed country manager for the Czech Republic. Hul?k previously worked for Alltech Lithuania and he brings with him several years of agricultural experience. Also Martin Kv?Å¡ has been appointed as the sales manager focusing on poultry for the Czech Republic. He previously worked for some of the top animal nutrition companies in the Czech Republic.
Alltech Serbia has appointed a new sales manager, Mr. Mile Peuraca, who will be responsible for the northern Serbia. His role will include providing sales and technical support to local customers. Peuraca has many years' experience in the animal feed industry and he previously worked for Sano, an animal feed company in Serbia.
Alltech has also opened a new office in Latvia and Uzbekistan. The office in Latvia marks a strategic development for Alltech in the Baltic region, where existing offices are located in Estonia and Lithuania. The new office is located in Jaun?rupe in the RÃ®gas region, which is in the heart of Latvia's feed and animal production industry.
