[Curitiba, Brazil] - Alltech's 15th Latin-American Lecture Tour, entitled "Create Innovate Elevate", drew to a close on Thursday, 1st September 2005. More than 1,400 participants attended the seven days of lectures, where industry leaders discussed new technologies in animal nutrition. The lectures were tailored for each market; Chile had two sessions on aquaculture and ruminants and El Salvador hosted a poultry session. The Lecture Tour commenced in Curitiba, Brazil and concluded in El Salvador, Guatemala.
Dr. Pearse Lyons, President of Alltech, opened each meeting and stressed the need to understand and respond to the changes in the operating environment. He identified current strategies to ensure survival and enhance profitability.
Mr. Marc Larousse, Director of Alltech Latin America, commented "The animal feed industry in Latin America had grown at a phenomenal rate and there are enormous opportunities for buyers and producers. However, the key to successful growth and gaining an increased market share is through technology and communicating to the market place with meetings such as these.
Keynote speakers included Dr. Pearse Lyons, President of Alltech, challenged everyone to create, innovate and elevate the future of animal nutrition. Dr. Karl Dawson, Alltech Director of Worldwide Research, spoke about the future of nutritional biology with the use of new biological tools. Professor Janio Santurio, Federal University of Santa Mari?, Brazil, presented on the area of mycotoxins and strategies for protection of animal health and Mr. Carlos Ronchi, Technical Manager, Alltech Brazil discussed how biotechnology can generate profit for the poultry industry and Dr. Jorge Arias, Latin American Sales Director, Alltech USA highlighted the role of Optigen 1200: a nitrogen platform in the rumen.
