PROGRESSIVE DAIRYMAN: Don't Let Mycotoxins Intercept Your Profits

Nick Adams, global sales director for the Alltech Mycotoxin Management Program, talks about the harmful effects mycotoxins and other contaminants in feed can have on dairy cows and milk production. After examining more than 90 peer-reviewed papers, it was calculated that cows may produce 1.6 L of milk per day less when consuming mycotoxins. With this loss of performance, profits per cow are estimated to fall a stifling $1.54 per day.
