Cedar Falls, IA - The 26th stop of the Alltech North American Lecture Tour came to Cedar Falls, IA Friday morning. Nineteen feed industry professionals ventured out in the single digit temperatures to attend the Alltech event. Each of the speakers received several questions on the products and requests for more information continued to come in long after the meeting. As the second to last stop, the tour continued to build excitement in Iowa!

Brookings, SD - The North American Lecture Tour continued on strong as 53 producers, SDSU faculty, feed industry professionals and journalists enjoyed the Brookings stop Thursday morning.  Attendees feasted on Kentucky Ale gravy and ice cream and cheese enriched with Sel-Plex.  Questions on the presentations, Allzyme SSF, Optigen, NuPro, and Sel-Plex as well as the Avenue of Science, the Alltech FEI Games, and the Biorefinery Project continued long after the meeting.  Everyone left with tons of product information and Sel-Plex and Bio-Mos tablets.  Many people visited the Brookings office after the meeting to tour the facilities and gather more product information.

Owatonna, MN - Another successful stop on the North American Lecture Tour this afternoon as attendees braved the wind and snow to hear new developments with Sel-Plex®, NuPro®, Allzyme SSF® and Optigen®.  Attendees were blown away by the information presented and the Avenue of Science.  The meeting concluded with dinner, conversation and a little Kentucky Ale hospitality.

Auburn, AL - Next stop Auburn where the lecture series was attended by 27 eager University representatives.  Of note were Professor and Head of the Department of Animal Sciences, Dr. Wayne Greene, and Dr. Russ Muntifering, a former colleague of Dr. Karl Dawson.  Others in attendance included faculty and staff, students, and other stakeholders from the University of Auburn College of Agriculture and Veterinary medicine. Representatives from the Aquatic Animal Health Research Lab in Auburn were eager to hear of Alltech’s increased focus on solutions for aquaculture.  The attendees were very interested to read over the new article titled, "Alltech Tackles Feeding Fish that Feed Humanity."

Lincoln, NE - Five inches of snow couldn’t keep the Nebraskans away from the Alltech North American Lecture Tour in Lincoln on Wednesday afternoon. Thirteen brave producers, feed industry professionals, journalists and university students and faculty were blown away from the NALT presentations, especially Karl Dawson’s final presentation on the future of the feed industry. After the meeting, attendees wanted more! Requests for more information on the products, the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, Sel-Plex and Bio-Mos capsules, the Biorefinery and Symposium kept coming in long after the meeting finished.

Gainesville, FL - 3 participants from Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. attended the Gainesville stop of the North American Lecture Tour, including a General Manager of 2 locations as well as the Vice-President, Bob Scott. Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. is primarily engaged in the production, grading, packing and sale of fresh shell eggs. The company, which is headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi, currently is the largest producer and distributor of fresh shell eggs in the United States and sells the majority of its shell eggs in approximately 28 states across the southwestern, southeastern, mid-western and mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. In 2007, Cal-Maine sold approximately 685 million dozen shell eggs, which represented about 15.5% of domestic shell egg consumption – currently have over 34 million birds.

Also in attendance were Bob Simon and David Stephens from Lakeland Animal Nutrition, Charles Syfrett II, from Syfrett Foods and a representative from Shenandoah Dairy – they have 2,100 head of dairy and 2,000 head of heifer, and North Florida Holsteins. In total, we had over 40 people at the stop.

Thomasville, GA - The Thomasville, GA stop had approximately 20 people in attendance with participants from Mid-GA Farm Service and Hickory Head Dairy (1,500 dairy cows). There were also members of the local Chamber of Commerce as well as a company, Ecosystem that were highly interested in the biorefinery concept.

Lancaster, PA - "A Top Notch Event," - said a participant of the Alltech Pennsylvania NALT stop. Industry colleagues totaling 47 attendees were present for the glamorous event at the Eden Resort.  Eyes were glued to the front of the room as the speakers reviewed the energy crisis and ever increasing corn prices. Alltech presented solutions giving attendees hope, a plan for this industry to survive the energy crisis.

Columbus, OH - The Blackwell in Columbus housed over 40 agricultural specialists from the state of Ohio. Representatives from Ohio Cattlemen’s, Ohio Pork Producers and industry leaders and global influencers on the feed front attended to learn the best way to address the raw material dilemma facing the world today. With the population continually increasing, demand for meat is on the rise. With the added effect production has on the environment, it is up to us to find out how we can be the greenest generation. Heather Hetterick and Dale Minyo interviewed Kate Jacques, Paulo Ringolin, Russell Gilliam and Nicole Klosterman for Ohio Ag Radio Network where they broadcast live from the hotel. Attendees were impressed by the local attention Alltech gives its customers and their knowledge of animal nutrition.

Tour Report - Day Five - January 11th

Raleigh, NC - The North Carolina stop of the North American Lecture Tour in Raleigh drew a crowd of producers and nutritionists representing over 2 million birds and 400,000 sows fed in the Southeastern U.S. Twenty N.C. State University researchers, professors and graduate students were also in attendance. Melissa Scherpereel took copious notes during the Alltech SSF and NuPro presentations. "The lectures were very informative and the facts that Paulo shared were fascinating. I look forward to sharing my notes with my poultry science students," she said.

Springfield, MO - For a Friday night, the Springfield, Missouri NALT was a huge success.  60 guests gathered to discover ways they can put together the feed cost puzzle.  Upon the conclusion of the presentations, everyone had a fantastic time at a Sel-Plex Supper with BBQ beef, sides, desserts, lots of cold KY Ale and a great local band!

Knoxville, TN – A group of progressive agribusiness leaders and educators gathered in Knoxville for Alltech’s 2008 North America Lecture Tour.  The heavy rains could not keep the 23 in attendance away, as they learned of the future of agriculture and its effect on the global economy.  The speakers, videos, and displays captivated the attendees, leading to an excellent discussion about the development of Tennessee agriculture.  In a truly progressive region, the lecturers presented ideas on how Alltech can truly be their “solution provider”.

Wausau, WI – Alltech’s North American Lecture Tour made its fifth stop in Wausau, Wisconsin. Key nutritionists and producers enjoyed the stimulating presentations and gained a better appreciation for all that Alltech is doing for the agriculture sector on a global scale. Despite being a heavily saturated dairy and ruminant audience, the diverse presentations topics were very well received. Further details regarding Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games left attendees utterly impressed and excited for future developments. One attendee commented that “this was the greatest meeting he had ever been too!” Alltech’s North American Lecture Tour continues on to over twenty more destinations spanning all corners of North America during the next week and a half.

Pendleton, Oregon hosted 43 attendees for the North American Lecture Tour. A highly interactive session covered a number of key areas in beef and dairy nutrition, specifically innovative technologies to allow us to remain profitable while still addressing the demands of consumers.

Tour Report - Day Two - January 8th

Guelph, Ontario - A record number of key influencers were present at the stop today including top journalists Owen Roberts, Director of Agricultural Communications at the University of Guelph and Jim Romahn, lead journalist at, The Ontario Farmer. An example of the success; attendee and owner of a 300 cow dairy has committed to putting his herd on Alltech's NuPro after being reaffirmed of its benefits by speaker Paul Groenewegen.

Abbotsford, BC – Despite the snowy weather, the Abbotsford NALT stop drew in a sizeable crowd of representatives from the area’s feed companies, producers, veterinarians and agricultural companies. The insightful presentations generated much discussion afterwards at the luncheon, with several attendees asking to receive further information about Alltech’s new products.

Tour Report - Day One - January 7th

Winnipeg, MB – The Canadian leg of Alltech’s North American Lecture Tour began early Monday morning in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Alltech videos and research posters captivated attendees before the presentations started, who were continually impressed by the knowledge of the speakers in the following hours. Members of the agricultural and academic community appreciated having a chance to read more on the posters during the coffee and lunch break, and also to talk with the presenters.

East Syracuse, NY – Alltech’s first stop kicked off the 2008 NALT series. 35 attendees ranging from students, professors, extension, feed mills, press and producers were in attendance for the exciting premier of the 2008 NALT Lecture Tour. During breaks, participants were able to visit displays of SSF in action, the advantages of nucleotides, and the benefits of selenium. In addition, on display were samplings of results from current research trials. Participants were wowed by the presentations. One participant was moved so much by the Alltech FEI games presentation it brought tears to her eyes. It was a great experience for the Ag community in the region.

Burlington, VT - 61 representatives of the Ag community came together in Burlington Last night. This was the second of 27 stops for Alltech's North American Lecture Tour to continue on across North America. With 61 producers, mills, vets, press and community leaders it is obvious that Alltech's plan for the energy crisis is desired knowledge for the Ag community in the Northeast. Look for more updates of this very important meeting as it spans across the U.S.
