"By the year 2050 the human population will exceed 9 billion. I ask you: Can today’s agricultural leaders take decisive action and be remembered as the Greenest Generation? Yes we can. With new technologies designed to alleviate energy and food concerns in a sustainable way." - Dr. Pearse Lyons, President, Alltech
Agriculture is responsible for a large amount of our current land and water usage. As the population grows, the environmental impact of agriculture will inevitably grow with it. In order to protect our natural resources and ensure that we conserve wildlife and natural ecosystems, we must produce food sustainably.
Efficiency and productivity are key to feeding our growing population while minimizing agricultural use of land, water, energy and other resources. Animal nutrition plays a critical role in this effort. Properly nourished animals are healthier, grow faster, use feed more efficiently and produce meat, milk and eggs that are more nutritious.
