The Alltech National Horse Show, America’s longest-standing indoor horse show, is riding high in its third year inside the Alltech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park. Regarded as the proving grounds for equestrian champions, the Alltech National Horse Show opens the ring to a variety of disciplines and classes, including hunt seat divisions, show jumpers and gaited breeds in competition.
Tickets for the Alltech National Horse show are available for purchase.
Horse crazy kids and barn buddies will pour into the Alltech Arena for the first-ever Barn Night in the Bluegrass. Throughout the night, youth are encouraged to show their “barn spirit” during events for a chance to win prizes, including a trip for four to attend the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy. Youth will enter the ring after the LIFEFORCE Elite™ Puissance for an autograph session with all-star equestrians.
The world’s most courageous show jumpers will compete in a test of trust and athleticism during the LIFEFORCE Elite™ Puissance, the high jump competition of equestrian sport. Last year’s winner Tim Gredley cleared a height of 7 feet – high enough to jump over University of Kentucky Basketball forward Willie Cauley-Stein. Who will soar to victory in this year’s competition?
The Alltech Grand Prix is the ultimate challenge in equestrian show jumping and the top trophy awarded at the Alltech National Horse Show. Top-
level horse and rider teams will speed through a course of about 16 challenging fences as high as 5 feet 3 inches with the objective of finishing without penalties for knocking down a jump. The rider with the fastest time and fewest penalties wins.
Young talent will compete for the coveted ASPCA Alfred B. Maclay title on Sunday.
Free Shuttle Service to the Alltech Arena. The Kentucky Gathering Trolley leaves on the hour from 5/3 Pavilion in downtown Lexington on Friday from 1-11 p.m. and Saturday from 12-11 p.m.
