[Lexington, KY] – Due to the success of its 2009 Equine News and Brews meeting series, Alltech will be resuming the free public program this month with an educational focus on the upcoming Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010™. The 2010 series will kick off at 6:30 p.m. on February 18 at Alltech’s Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company with a special progress update on the Alltech FEI Games by Jamie Link, CEO of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games; Dr. Pearse Lyons, president and founder of title sponsor Alltech; and John Nicholson, executive director of the Kentucky Horse Park and president of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games board of directors.
“Alltech inaugurated the Equine News and Brews series to create a dialogue among people who raise and love horses,” said Dr. Pearse Lyons. “In 2010, the Year of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, we are building on that successful program to reach a local audience who is, for example, curious but intimidated by the eight equestrian disciplines celebrated in the Alltech FEI Games. Our goal, quite simply, is to get down to the basics of the sport so everyone can understand what they’ll be seeing come September when the world’s best equine athletes gallop into the Bluegrass.”
The 2010 Equine News & Brews series includes:
· Feb. 18 – Update on the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games
· March 18 – Dressage and Para-Equestrian 101
· April 15 – Jumping and Eventing 101
· May 13 – Vaulting and Reining 101
· June 24 – Endurance and Driving 101
The monthly meetings will be held at Alltech's Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company at 401 Cross St. in downtown Lexington. A reception will commence at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program at 7:00. There is no charge but attendees must preregister by emailing: EquineNewsandBrews@alltech.com. Space is limited.
