Egalis®

Silage inoculants to maximise nutrient and dry matter protection

We know that silage-making is at the core of what you do. However, not all the silage produced will make it to the feed passage. From fresh crop to harvest and through storage, feed value drops, and the physical quantity also drops — by as much as 25%! This can hurt animal performance and increase your feed costs.

Egalis is a new range of high-quality silage inoculants from Alltech® that maximises nutrient quality retention and reduces dry matter loss. This means you have more silage to feed, better silage to feed and fewer concerns about wasting feed. Through enhanced palatability and increased dry matter intake, Egalis contributes to more profitable milk and meat production.

The Egalis range of silage inoculants

Egalis controls and drives silage fermentations through the use of highly efficient homolactic bacteria and chemicals that inhibit fungal growth.

Product Benefits

 Egalis® Ferment

Suitable for use on all forages from grass silage to wholecrops, Egalis Ferment efficiently and rapidly drives fermentation to a stable, final pH. It is comprised of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum and Pediococcus pentosaceus, which work synergistically to rapidly lower the pH to the required final pH irrespective of the dry matter or the buffering capacity of the forage.

  • Maximises nutrient protection
  • Reduces dry matter loss
  • More silage to feed

 Egalis® Rapid

Specifically formulated for all types of maize/corn and sorghum silage, Egalis Rapid drives lactic fermentation and simultaneously maintains dry matter, digestibility and palatability. It is formulated using the very rapidly growing Pediococcus pentosaceus and Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus.

  • Protects more dry matter
  • Promotes digestibility in the final silage
  • Optimises the efficiency of dairy cows and beef cattle

 Egalis® Stability

Suitable for use on all forage types, particularly in the event of heating due to aerobically challenged or high dry-matter silage, Egalis Stability helps inhibit the growth of yeast and mould and enhances the stability of the silage during feeding. It is formulated using Lactiplantibacillus plantarum and Pediococcus pentosaceus in combination with the highly antifungal potassium sorbate.

  • Helps silage stay cooler in the bunker, in the total mixed ration (TMR) and in the feed passage
  • Protects more dry matter
  • Promotes digestibility and energy in the animal

Supported by 40 years of fermentation research and expertise

Fermentation is at the core of what we do at Alltech, and silage-making happens to be the largest industrial fermentation globally! The Egalis range of products brings together more than four decades of expertise in fermentation, utilising bacteria strains specifically selected by our scientists to maximise nutrient and dry matter protection and improve animal performance.

Together with our on-farm support team and range of analytical services, we help to improve fermentation to produce quality silage, enabling you to hold onto more of what you grow, from field to feed passage.

Approved

Egalis bacteria strains are authorised for use in Europe and are considered safe to use by EFSA.

Quality

Alltech’s superior quality control system ensures we manufacture and deliver a consistent, high-quality product, every time.

Easy to use

Egalis inoculants are liquid applied and the product can be easily mixed with water to treat the required amount of forage.

Support

From product application to management advice and technical support, Alltech’s on farm team and technical experts can help you minimise waste and optimise efficiency at every stage contributing to increased milk production or daily liveweight gain.
