- About Alltech
The Alltech Innovation Competition celebrates business and entrepreneurship, and challenges the creative minds of undergraduate and graduate students.
Participating teams prepare forward-thinking business plans on innovative ideas in food and agribusiness that will improve economies, create jobs, elevate efficiencies and foster sustainable practices.
The inaugural competitions in 2013 were held in Kentucky and Ireland. In Kentucky, the University of Kentucky earned first place and received an award of $10,000, and the winner in Ireland hailed from the University of Limerick and was awarded with 4,000 Euros.
As a matter of interest, the $10,000 award is not an arbitrary amount. It is the exact amount with which Alltech was founded.
The Kentucky competition takes place April 26, 2014 at Bluegrass Community & Technical College – Newtown Campus, featuring teams from the following universities:
The Ireland competition takes place April 2, 2014 at Alltech’s European Headquarters, Dunboyne, Co. Meath, featuring teams from the following universities:
These six team will compete for an overall prize of €4,000.
