Deirdre Lyons Alltech Director Receives Senate Citation

Deirdre Lyons, Alltech's Director of Corporate Image and wife of founder Pearse Lyons, received a citation from the Kentucky Senate last month. Senator Tom Buford presented Mrs. Lyons with the citation in Frankfort. The citation honored Alltech for being a business-award recipient in the 2011-2012 Governor's Awards in the Arts.

Senator Mitch McConnell Visits Alltech Algae Mitch McConnell and Dr. Pearse Lyons
U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell visited Alltech Algae in Winchester, Ky. on Thursday. The $200 million facility, opened in March 2011, is actively pursuing algae’s applications as a fishmeal replacement in animal nutrition as well as its viability as an alternative fuel source. It is considered one of the largest commercial algae production sites in the world.
