Norman trots into Italy! Norman goes water skiing!

Next on Norman’s list was Italy. Norman had heard all about The Palio di Siena. The Palio Siena is a horse race that is held twice each year, on July 2 and August 16, in Siena, Italy. Ten horses and riders, bareback dressed in the appropriate colours, representing ten of the seventeen city wards race for the title. Norman could not believe that the jockeys ride bareback; the race circles the Piazza del Campo, and usually lasts no more than 90 seconds.

Norman has reached Switzerland!

Norman has reached Switzerland! Norman spends time with a friendly garden gnome!

The next stop on Norman’s trot was Switzerland. The country is situated in Western and Central Europe, where it is bordered by Germany to the north, France to the west, Italy to the south, and Austria and Liechtenstein to the east. Switzerland is a landlocked country geographically divided between the Alps, the Swiss Plateau and the Jura. Norman was amazed by the natural beauty of the country and took a visit to the Swiss Natural Park which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.

Norman is astounded by beautiful Austria

Norman is astounded by beautiful Austria Norman plays in the snow!

Norman’s next stop on his global trot was Austria and he was very excited to visit this wonderfully musical place. Norman galloped to Mozart’s birth place and listened to some of his exquisite music on his iPod. Norman chuckled to himself as he thought that it was almost like having Mozart play a private concert in his home for him. After Norman had a healthy lunch he couldn’t wait to roll around in snow covered hills! He had never been skiing but he was very excited to try. Norman had hired a ski instructor for two hours to show him the basics.

Norman checks out castles in the Czech Republic Norman researches "Czechs to Normandy"!

Norman’s next stop on his global trot was the land of fairytales, the Czech Republic. Norman loved castles and had seen quite a few on his journey so far. However he was extra excited today as the Czech Republic is known to be the castle capital of the world. After spending a few hours running around the Hluboká Castle pretending to be an ancient prince’s trusty steed, Norman decide it was time to get to know more about a long established project between Alltech and Fitmin.
