Norman neighed hello to the Philippines Norman and the finishing post at the Manila race track

Norman galloped into the city of Manila in the Philippines and was excited to see all the beautiful Filipino people with warm friendly smiles.  He somehow managed to lose his way to the Alltech Manila office! Norman was struggling to figure out the right direction so he asked around and was pleasantly greeted with a big “Mabuhay!”. He was amazed at how friendly the people were.

Is Grain Quality Stealing From Your Profits

The old saying, “We are scraping at the bottom of the barrel,” seems about right when it comes to the current feed being used. With the 2014 harvest just on the horizon, many swine and poultry producers are finding the last of the 2013 grains being used in feed is of substantially lower quality. Even when stored in the best conditions, grains never improve quality during the storage period. Grain quality is either maintained or lost, taking with it the farm’s net returns. Corn, a key ingredient in swine and poultry diets, can represent close to 60 percent of the total feed.

Norman gallops into Thailand Norman drinks some water in Thailand

Norman galloped into Thailand and was very excited to learn everything about this exotic Southeast Asian country. It was an especially exciting time for him to be in Thailand as the Songkran festival had just begun! The local people explained to Norman that this festival is a celebration of the traditional Thai New Year. Norman wanted to participate in all of the different events that day, so he went to the ceremony of Buddha and the throwing of water. This is one of the most popular Songkran celebrations, and Norman had great fun throwing water at everyone.

Next stop on Norman’s global trot was to Indonesia Norman makes new friends at InCow Jaya Farm

The next stop on Norman’s global trot was to Indonesia. He was very excited to reach Indonesia as he had heard that there were over 18,000 islands, many of which spoke a variety of languages and had different cultural traditions. Norman spent his morning on Komodo Island; he was amazed by the spectacular scenery and thought that the beaches seemed very romantic because of the pink sand. One of the local men explained that there are few pink sand beaches in the world.
