In the session Programs Not Products, at Alltech’s 29th Annual Symposium, we will get a glimpse of the future and discuss some of the methods and solutions that will help us excel as we move toward 2020. It was two years ago when I first came across a poster that read "Alltech Young Scientist Competition" while on my way to the reading room. I found it interesting and time was available, so I decided to look into the details. I met Dr. Ao and Miss Luo from Alltech and Dr. Ao's speech was so inspiring that I decided take part in the competition. However, it was my second year in university and I did not yet know how prepare a paper. I asked my physiology teacher for help. She is a reference professor and was my tutor. A few days later, I joined in her group.

Sarah Ennis was awarded Senior Event Rider at the 2012 Irish Field Awards. She just missed out on Olympic selection, but still had a superb 2012 which saw her end the season as the top Irish rider in the world HSBC rankings. She has represented Ireland on several international teams and brings over 20 years experience of working with horses to her job as a trainer, coach and established international event rider.

AYS Finalist: Amanda Pesqueira - An Exciting Research Path from Brazil to Kentucky

When I was in the second year of my undergraduate courses in Brazil, one of my professors asked if anyone was interested in doing a research project with her. I didn't really know that we could do research after just a couple years in college, so I was interested to learn more about it. After that class, I talked to her about it. She told me that I would work with bees, and that I would receive an R$300.00 (Reais - Brazil, around USD$150.00 in 2009) scholarship and that would go towards my curriculum cost.
