Roger Weiland’s situation probably sounds familiar to many dairy farmers. He’s encountered problems like rising feed costs and issues related to cow comfort and productivity. We asked him about that in this video from the 2012 World Dairy Expo.
The drought effected Weiland’s farm in Columbus, Wis., like it has with many other farmers, but he found ways to work through it. They were mindful of the situation and improved the cooling system for the cows and worked to provide the freshest feed possible for cows. He also talks about his feelings on alternative feeds and how he got crops even during a drought.
