With the final of the FEI World Cup™ Driving Series taking place this weekend in Bordeaux, France, we take a look at the sport of Driving to see what it entails. Driving is one of the oldest competitive equestrian sports. It is a discipline without a rider but with a driver, who drives a carriage drawn by between one and four horses. It seemed Ireland’s Richie Moloney would win the $75,000 Double H Farm International Open Jumper class at the Alltech National Horse Show earlier this week. He bested Kent Farrington with a time of 40.66 seconds with Slieveanorra. But Lauren Hough and Quick Study prevailed in the 14-horse jump-off.

Richie spoke to us about his hopes for the Alltech Grand Prix and his overall impression of the facility and show this year. He will be riding Ahorn van de Zuuthoeve this evening.

Margie Engle is a ten-time AGA Rider of the Year and she has seen a few National Horse Shows in her career. "The ring looks beautiful. It looks almost like the garden did years ago," she said, describing the show ring at the Alltech Arena in the Kentucky Horse Park. She will be competing this evening in the $250,000 Alltech Grand Prix here in Lexington, Kentucky.

Christine “Chris” McCrea is in Lexington, Kentucky competing at the Alltech National Horse Show. She was also here in 2011 for the show’s inaugural edition in its new home. McCrea will be riding Romantovich Take One in this evening’s $250,000 Alltech Grand Prix. The pair won team and individual gold at the 2011 Pan American Games.
