Norman races into Russia for his welcome party! Norman enjoys some goats cheese

Norman’s next stop on his global trot was Russia. Russia’s vast landscape hosts a broad array of travel experiences from treks up the slopes of glacier capped mountains to strolls along the shoreline of the earth’s oldest lake. Norman was interested in finding out more about the famous Russian Don; a breed of horse developed in and named after the steppes region of Russia where the Don River flows. These horses are currently used for under-saddle work and driving.

Norman gallops into gorgeous Georgia! Norman visits Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia!

Norman galloped into Georgia and thought it was an amazingly beautiful country! After cantering around on the Caucasus Mountains for a few hours he stopped by the Black Sea coast and couldn’t believe how wonderfully golden the sea looked when the sun shimmered down on it. Norman couldn’t resist and he had to leap in for a quick swim!

Norman trots into Turkey, what a delight! Norman learns about sieve testing!

Norman’s next stop on his global trot was Turkey, a land of mythical legends and Gods from Greek and Latin literature. He was looking forward to sampling some original Turkish delight. Norman being a history buff, had already read about the city of Troy and was looking forward to hearing all about the famous Trojan War in Turkey. Norman trotted to the ancient ruins of Troy located in Hisarlik near Canakkale province. Troy is a city which existed over 4,000 years ago and known as the centre of ancient civilisations.

Norman neighed hello to Armenia! As he trotted towards Yerevan the very cultural capital city he was amazed to find the great ancient burial site of a horse dating from the 25th-26th Century BC. According to Greek historian Xenophon, Armenia has a rich horse history. The Niseyski horse breed is one of the most famous from the region.
