Aquaculture Challenges

Immune Function and Disease Resistance

Parasitic, bacterial and viral disease outbreaks impose a significant constraint in aquaculture production. Increased susceptibility to disease outbreaks can arise due to stress conditions brought about by unfavourable nutritional, environmental or husbandry conditions resulting in reduced growth rates and immunosuppression. Natural feeding technologies have been shown to promote growth, achieve a healthy immune status, adjust intestinal microflora and block pathogen access.
