On December 26th 2004, an earthquake in the Indian Ocean caused a Tsunami, which devastated parts of several parts of Asia and killed over 200,000 people.
Alltech worked in conjunction with the Pattanarak Foundation, a Non – Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 2000 by Kuhn Seri Thongamak and focuses on conservation and preservation of the environment.
The humanitarian aid helped villages in Krabi Province, Thailand and relief efforts focused on three islands in the south west of Thailand; Koh Jum, Koh Pu and Koh Sriborya.
Project 1:
Koh Pu – Alltech funded the construction of five houses, two shops and nine boats.
Koh Sriborya – Alltech funded the construction of two houses and two boats for families in the region.
Koh Jum – Three boats have been donated.
Project 2:
$5,000 was donated to support social activities for victim relief and for education, sport and religion for children.
Project 3:
$5,000 was donated for the conservation of natural resources for the environment.
